The guide includes advertisements for insurances, boarding houses and hotels, various products and companies. It has timetables for trains in Britain mainly, but also France, Belgium, Germany, Holland, Switzerland and the Rhine area, including a timetable for the Great Western Railway between London Paddington and Bristol (pp. 6 - 8).
There are also advertisements for coastal steamship services, such as advertisement for the Great Western Steam Ship Company that gives the timetable of days the Great Western and the Great Britain will leave Liverpool for New York between August and December 1846 (p. 82).
