НазваниеThames Tunnel Shield monochrome print
Создатель W. Warrington (engraver), Richard Beamish (artist)
ОписаниеA monochrome print showing the shield used in the Thames Tunnel. It shows one of the twelve iron frames that made up the shield, with three cells on top of each other. There is a miner with a pickaxe in the middle cell of the frame. The poling boards that lined the tunnel face, for it to be excavated section by section, are also visible.
'R. Beamish del' (Richard Beamish drew) and 'W. Warrington Sc' (William Warrington engraved) is written along the bottom of the print. The print also states that it is isometrical, with a scale bar at the bottom of the print from 0-6 feet. Parts on the image are numbered. When held up to the light 'J W' is set within the paper to the bottom right of the image.
