Recto: a view of a moored white British Royal Navy steam and sail vessel, bearing a White Ensign on the stern and Union Flag from mizzen-mast. Four crewmembers are sat aboard near the bow. Vessel has three masts and one funnel, sails are down. A similar ship is beyond, with a St. George flag on its main mast and Union Flag flown from the stern. Verso: a naive pencil and watercolour drawing of two steam and sail vessels. Foreground vessel is possibly sinking, the deck is crowded with people. Both vessels fly flags, possibly Union Flags. Blue watercolour is used to depict steam and/or smoke.
