She operated as a sailing vessel from 1882 - 86, carrying cargo between the UK (coal from South Wales) to Panama and San Francisco (grain back to the UK). Another large sailing vessel is visible in the background on the left side. there is a small boat in the foreground with a flag which reads 'Liverpool'.
