DescriptionBook containing eight lithographs based on sketches created by nineteenth century professional artist Elizabeth Parsons. They include scenes of Berwick, Lilydale, Maffra, Sandridge and Woodend, Australia. The buildings include cottages, dilapidated sheds, a building on a pier and the All Saints belfry built into a tree trunk. All are signed E. Parsons and dated 1882.
Elizabeth Parsons was the pupil of British landscape artist, James Duffield Harding. She and her husband, George Parsons travelled to Melbourne from Liverpool with their children on Voyage 35 of the SS Great Britain (19th March 1870 – 15th May 1870). They settled in Australia, where Elizabeth pursued a successful art career.
