Painting of the ss Great Britain at sea. The ship is depicted sailing at night on rough seas in the centre of the painting. In the background on the right is the outline of an object. The ship is shown in purples and black, while the sea and sky are dark blues, greys and blacks with accents of white. Watercolour and pencil.
Modern black and gold frame. Painting measures 240mm x 168mm; frame measures 430mm x 370mm.
Two metal loops and wire attached to backboard for hanging. Backboard of frame secured with staples and masking tape. Well secured. Condition stable.
