DescriptionWooden box, dovetailed sides, base glued, possibly a cigarette box. Two compartments with hinged lid. Carved from the timbers of the ss Great Britain. The dates 1843 and 1943 are carved on the front, as well as the port profile of the wreck of the Great Britain carved in low relief on the lid.
Produced in the Falkland Islands from the timbers of the Great Britain and sold at auction to help fund the ware effort during the Second World War.
