DescriptionA coloured print showing the SS Great Britain in 1852. Choppy seas in the foreground with the ship shown in a starboard profile view. All sails are set and smoke is coming from the funnels. The ship is shown in her 1852 - 54 configuration with four masts and two parallel funnels. Passengers and crew are visible on deck. The Gibbs, Bright & Co. house flag is flown from mast top number three.
A steam pilot is visible in the foreground heading away from the ship. Several other vessels are visible in the background. The legend below the image provides details of the ship and is dedicated to Gibbs, Bright & Co.
