There is a further identical paddle steamer coming up the river towards the jetty. Several small sailing and rowing vessels can also be seen in the river. In the background the houses of Clifton rise up the hillside with several terraces and crescents of grand houses visible. Towards the left side in the background is the Clifton Suspension Bridge, complete and open to road traffic, with several horse-drawn carriages and pedestrians visible on the bridge. Below the bridge the Avon Gorge can be seen.
