TitleCollection of 50 negatives (photographs) documenting the SS Great Britain in the Falkland Islands
CreatorUnknown (photographer), Edward Ockenden (photographer)
DescriptionCollection of 19 individual strips of negatives containing 50 photographs documenting the SS Great Britain in the Falkland Islands. 14 negatives (2 1/4'') were taken by an unknown photographer in 1969 (possibly Naval member of 8901 due to the size), and the other 36 (35mm format) were taken by the donor, a Royal Marine, after the ship was raised from Sparrow Cove and while she was alongside Port Stanley.
The 14 2 1/4'' negatives show the ship in Sparrow Cove and men in uniform looking at her from the coast. The 36 negatives taken by the donor include images taken on and of the ship, photos of men exploring the island and local wildlife.
