The Galgorm Castle was a steel barque constructed in 1892 by Workman, Clark and Co.
The ship made several journeys from ports in Europe and Africa to Australia.
The ship was captured by a German Submarine in the First World War and sunk by gunfire with the loss of eleven lives.
The illustration is made in ink, and the British Jack can be seen on the bow of the ship.
The artist has identified the ship and signed the piece at the bottom of the page.
