She apologises for her defective memory but remembers his arrival, the 'instrument for shuffling cards' and her parents' admiration for him. She has written to Lord Spencer in case of useful material at Althorp. Dated January 22nd but no year.
Contained within an album of letters addressed to members of the Brunel and Hawes families. The letters are contained in a brown hardback album belonging to Lady Sophia Macnamara Hawes, page 51.
