Creator David MacGregor (author)
DescriptionInvoice from David MacGregor to the British Transport Commission, for 'taking of the lines of the canal boat DUCHESS COUNTESS and obtaining other necessary measurements and information, and preparing a detailed set of plans, for an agreed fee of 20 guineas.' Dated 27th April 1958.
Found with a bundle of correspondence between David MacGregor and John H. Scholes, Curator of Historical Relics at the British Transport Commission, relating to the taking of lines from the Weaver flat canal boat, "Duchess Countess" before it is broken up. The bundle includes letters between the two making arrangements for work and payment, and a page of hand-written notes from MacGregor's research into the history of the vessell. The dates on the letters appear to be erroneous, see time sheet (BRSGB 2014.01001.03.20.10) for more accurate idea of dates.
