DescriptionBook of newspaper cuttings carried together by R. Napier. The cuttings cover the period of 1 January 1873 to 4 September 1876 and are all about the ships built and launched by R. Napier & Sons in their yard in Govan near Glasgow.
At the front of the book is a handwritten list of themes and dates of cuttings and all newspaper cuttings are labelled with the date of publication and in which newspaper it appeared.
There were three paper bookmarks which marked pages in the log book. The markers were annotated in the handwriting of David MacGregor. The first was removed from page 126 and was marked ‘Dismasting’; the second was removed from page 191 and was marked ‘Baron Colonsay launch’; and the third was removed from page 227 and was marked ‘County of Peebles’. The bookmarks were removed by the curator 22.02.2016
