DescriptionColoured print of the ss Great Britain after she ran aground in Dundrum Bay off the coast of Ireland ' as seen from the Coastguard Station, Oct 1st 1846'. It shows the bow facing the viewer with small boats carrying people from the ship to the shore. To the right of the ship is the beach at Dundrum Bay with mountains in the background. To her left are two steam tugs shown waiting to assist with the salvage operation. With a 1/- stamp on the reverse showing the ship and the head of Queen Elizabeth 2nd.
