DescriptionGreen printed pottery butter dish. Shows images of the ps Great Western at sea, as well as floral decorations. This piece is a relatively large butter dish, descoarted around its base with green floral images. The floral imagery continues around the outside of the dish itself with two large floral pictures seperating matching shots of the Great Western. The two floral shots differ slightly in their composition but the two images of the Great Western match each other. The ship is shown in profile, sailing from left to right across the image. The sails on its four masts are set and ther is steam blowing from her funnel as the sidewheels propel the ship through rough waters.
The same image is repeated on the lid of the butter dish with the heading circling above which reads: 'Great Western Steam Ship Company'
