DescriptionPorcelain ewer painted with floral decoration and figures. Painted by Lady Sophia Macnamara Hawes, sister of Isambard Kingdom Brunel, dated 1841. The front of the ewer is decorated with an image of boy walking through a field. This is flanked on either side by collections of flowers. The bucolic theme is continued around the neck of the ewer as a garland of flowers circles the mouth of the piece. a second strong of flowers falls over the handle of the ewer which is itself decorated with a gold leaf design. Signed on the base 'S.M.Hawes, 1841.
