DescriptionMedium sized brown and white mottled cowrie shell, carved with a side profile of the Great Eastern and 'The Great Eastern Stm Ship, Launched Jany 31st 1858'. The Great Eastern is depicted in a profile view at sea. Four funnels are visible with 6 masts, two of which have their sails unfurled. The side paddle wheel can also be identified.
