Sir Henry is writing to Benjamin Hawes to thank him for congratulating Barkly on his appointment to the Governornment of Jamaica.
The letter was originally catalogued when it was loose from the main album, it was subsequently reattached by Sharon Oldale, Paper Conserver (see 'Condition / Conservation' tab) - page 4 of the album.
Contained within an album of letters addressed to members of the Brunel and Hawes families. The letters are contained in a brown hardback album belonging to Lady Sophie Macnamara Hawes.
