On one side is the text '1945 - 2005' and 'TWO POUNDS' with a central design of St Paul's Cathedral and two search lights. On the reverse is a side profile of Queen Elizabeth II surrounded by the abbreviated Latin text 'ELIZABETH II DEI GRA REG FID DEF' (abbreviation of 'Elizabeth II Dei Gratia Regina Fidei Defensatrix' - 'Elizabeth II by the Grace of God Queen Defender of the Faith'). On the edge is the text 'IN VICTORY MAGNANIMITY IN PEACE GOODWILL.' The coin is still in its plastic capsule.
