DescriptionWhite, glazed reconstructed cup fragment decorated with the logo of the Liverpool and Australian Steamship Navigation Company, depicting the Liver Bird and a Kangaroo on separate shields. Inside of rim is decorated with a knotted rope design. Recovered from the wrecksite of the passenger steamship Royal Charter.
Gibbs, Bright and Co. split the Eagle Line (old packet ships) from their steam ships (Great Britain and Royal Charter) in 1856. The steam ships then ran under the name : The Liverpool and Australian Steamship Navigation Company.
