CreatorLiverpool & Australian Navigation Company (producer)
DescriptionA poster advertising passage to Liverpool on the 'Celebrated Steam Ship, Great Britain' on 'about 15th August, 1871' under command of Captain John Gray. However, it didn't depart until two weeks later.
The poster is on behalf of the Liverpool and Australia Navigation Company. The ship was due to leave Hobson's Bay for Liverpool Direct. The poster lists food included in passage, rates and allowances for bedding and luggage.
The poster is printed in black, blue and red.
On the verso of the paper, a handwritten letter fills the page by an unknown author. The letter states that the author decided to not travel on the Great Britain, but the Anglesey. They state that "recommended to go by a London in preference to a Liverpool ship, the London ships always being better provided."
