Great Ship Company Report Book, Letterbook for the Great Ship Company, the successor to the Eastern Steam Navigation Company
Hawkshaw, Fowler and McClean are writing as the arbitrators appointed under the contract between John Scott Russell and the Great Ship Company and are reporting on three questions that have arisen. The questions relate to the coal bunkers of the screw engines, the screw alley (a water-tight passage for the screw-shaft running through the after compartment) and the installation of the lower supports of the sponson beams. Specifically Hawkshaw, Fowler and McClean are being asked to judge who is responsible for each piece of work.
Great Ship Company Report Book, Letterbook for the Great Ship Company, the successor to the Eastern Steam Navigation Company.
