DescriptionHandwritten manuscript draft of an agreement, author not given, between the Birmingham Railway and the Bristol Railway, concerning the construction of a junction between the two railways near Harlesdon Green in the parish of Acton. Entitled 'Project for junction of the Birmingham and Bristol Railways, for the benefit of the two Companies'. Numbered '165'.
This scheme, for two lines to use a joint London terminus, failed over the question of land lease and an amending act was passed authorising the extension of the Great Western Railway from Acton to its own terminus at Paddington.
