DescriptionWritten from 8 Billiter Square. The letter makes an addition to Brown Lenox & Co's tender for chain cables and anchors for the Eastern Steam Navigation Company. The alteration relates to the manufacture of the chain cables and suggests that the iron for the largest size of cable undergoes an additional operation during the manufacture, similar to a process that they used for the manufacture of cables for the light vessels for Trinity House. The letter also confirms the prices, delivery time and other terms relating to the tender for the anchors and cables.
There is some damage to the letter, where long term folding has weakened the paper and there is a tear along one of the fold lines.
