Parkes, Henry Wood & Co, Fox & Henderson, John Abbott & Co, Hawks Crawshay & Co, Pow & Fawcas, Brown Lenox & Co and Brown Lenox & Co. Brown Lenox & Co submitted a tender for two different sorts of chain. The table gives details of the sort of chain offered, the weight of chain per fathom, the proving strain, the breaking strain, the time of delivery and the price per hundredweight. Each firm submitted tenders for three different diameters of chain. The table is strongly annotated with calculations and alterations to the figures and an additional set of figures has been inserted reflecting the tender from Abbott & Co, while the name of Hawks Crawshay & Co has been inserted after the previous column heading was crossed through.
