TitleDrawings of parts of a Brunel ship, probably the Great Eastern
DescriptionTwo pen and ink drawings showing different designs for the propeller and rudder, possibly the SS Great Britain or SS Great Eastern. Dated 8 July n.y.
Apparent signiture bottom right of each may read 'Mr Burch' - Joseph Burch developed and patented (in 1852) a form of propeller, which appears to be represented in the sketches. This could show IK Brunel experimenting with different propellers for the SS Great Eastern.
For information on Burch please see 'Digital References' in 'Numbers/ Relationships' tab.
