The Otranto was launched in 1926 for the Orient Steam Navigation Company as a replacement for an earlier ship also named Otranto (launched 1909, sank 1928 after collision with P&O liner Kashmir while serving as an Armed Merchant Cruiser during the First World War). She was scrapped in 1957.
