    СоздательRoyal Mint, Bruce Rushin (designer)‎
Описание£2 silver proof coin commemorating technological development from the Iron Age to the invention of the internet. On one side is the text '1997' and 'TWO POUNDS'. The coin has four concentric circles of decoration on this side - spirals in the centre, then cogwheels, an abstract, slightly swirling, pattern, and then a diamond-shaped pattern in the outermost circle. These are intended to represent, respectively, the Iron Age, the Industrial Revolution, the silicon chip and the internet. On the reverse is a side profile of Queen Elizabeth II surrounded by the abbreviated Latin text 'ELIZABETH II DEI GRATIA REGINA F D +' (abbreviation of 'Elizabeth II Dei Gratia Regina Fidei Defensatrix' - 'Elizabeth II by the Grace of God Queen Defender of the Faith'). On the edge is an inscription which reads 'STANDING ON THE SHOULDERS OF GIANTS.' The coin is still in its plastic capsule.
