    DescriptionThe full title page reads 'The Great Britain Steam Ship. Extracts from the letters of Capt. Claxton, R.N., to I.K. Brunel, Esq., and the directors of the Great Western Steam Ship Company, giving a detailed account of the manner in which The Great Britain was first protected through the winter of 1847. In and afterwards released from Dundrum Bay, with a report from the chairman to the shareholders of the company, and copies of documents relating to The Breakwater, moved for and laid before parliament on the motion of the Earl of Roden'. A 75 page pamphlet containing extracts from letters concerning The Great Britain running aground at Dundrum Bay. In the top right hand corner of the front page is an inscription of Sophia Hawes nee Brunel.
