Northern park of the Engine Works, at centre, a large rectangular masonry plinth, post dating the northern basement wall. Plinth measured 11 x 6.9m and was 1.3m deep. Dated GWSC Engine Works 1839-52. Industrial waste deposits and iron-rich deposits found in relation to this layer's functions, presumably smithing. Possibly a base for engineering machinery.
