ОписаниеA large silver-gilt sideboard dish, round with four short feet. Around the outside edges the dish is decorated with a swirling leaf and flower pattern. The middle of the dish is polished and undecorated and the initials IKB are fixed there with screws. The screws of these fittings protrude on the underside of the dish and are held in place with square nuts. The four feet of the dish are shaped in the form of a wave and ranking plants. There are no hallmarks, however the item carriess the mark 'B. Smith, Duke Street, Lincoln's Inn Fields' as well as the number 372 on the underside of the dish. This is part of a collection of silverware consisting of three silver-gilt dessert stands, two silver-gilt sideboard dishes, and a set of six silver-gilt salt-cellars and six silver-gilt spoons. These items were presented to Isambard Kingdom Brunel at the Albion Tavern on 17 January 1845 by the Great Western Railway Company and numerous subscribers.
