Painter: Gabriel Blair. Signature of the artist shown in the bottom left corner. Painting depicts the head and shoulders of a older man with white hair and beard wearing a dark jacket. Oil paint on hardboard. Some damage and missing paint on the bottom right of the painting. Appears to be a mark, possibly pencil, on the sitters left cheek when looking at him.
Painting is held in a black and gold frame. Some damage and wear to the corners of the frame. The backboard of the frame is made from the back of a solid drawing block and held by nails.
