A work on the Incan quipu; the aim of which is 'to examine with considerable care the available authentic specimens', as well as to collate what has been written about the quipu from the time of European conquest to the present day. Contains a cross-referenced bibliography. The first chapter i substantially the material of an April 1912 paper in the American Anthropologist, while the rest is a compilation of other writers.
