Original in SSGB collection: 1997.025. 'Log of ss Great Britain from 26th of July to 9th of August 1845 [Voyage 3]. The ss Great Britain's maiden voyage across the Atlantic started form Liverpool on the 26th of July 1845. She arrived in New York fifteen days later on 10th August. This log was written by her commander, James Hosken, and records the daily happenings on board the ship between England and America.'
