Original in SSGB collection: 1997.032. 'Letter from C.J Mason to T.R. Guppy. Dated 14th April 1845. Postmarked Newcastle-under-Lyne 14th April 1845 and Bristol 15th April 1845.
Mason writes to Guppy about table ware order for the ss Great Britain. Discusses the 'the list of articles which you will want for the Great Britain' stating 'it will afford me much pleasure to come up to Bristol to consult with you'. States the advantages of ironstone china over earthenware items saying they are easier to keep clean. Also discusses the modelling that needs to be carried out to create moulds for any items ordered.
