Canon's Marsh : The Rise and Fall of the Tobacco Bonds
-
At seven o'clock on the morning of Sunday, May 29th, 1988, Bristol was shaken by the largest explosion in the city since the wartime blitz. In the space of seconds, a former local landmark - the bonded tobacco warehouses at Canon's Marsh disappeared from view, reduced to rubble. This record of the warehouses from their construction in 1920 has been compiled by Philip Jones, former manager and director of Canon's Marsh Tobacco Bonds Ltd.
